AI Engineer
2K Boston, the team that made BioShock (and also SWAT 4, Freedom Force, and System Shock 2), has a reputation for outstanding A.I. - and now we're looking for an outstanding A.I. Engineer to push the envelope yet again on a new and exciting project.
Do you have a knack for reducing complex character-behavior into simple and elegant structure? Fancy yourself as half-programming-genius/half-improv-acting-coach? We're looking for someone with a blend of gaming-savvy and creative problem-solving abilities to join the team as an A.I. Engineer.

What you would be doing:
- Working closely with Designers and Animators to craft an amazing game-play experience through the A.I.
- Implementing A.I. functionality under the direction of the A.I. Lead
- Constructing, testing, documenting, and maintaining your own work
- Contributing unique ideas and constructive feedback for A.I. and related game features
Requirements:
- A passion for A.I. technologies
- Experience with spatial-comprehension, path-finding, behavior-modeling, and animation/character-state techniques
- A deep understanding of the various game-play components that interact with A.I.
- Excellent understanding of C/C++
- Strong team-based mentality and excellent communication skills
- Ability to create high-quality and performance-minded code
- Proficiency in linear-algebra and probability/statistics
- One or more shipped game titles
- At least B.Sc. Degree in Computer Science or equivalent game experience
- Experience with recent game console technology (Xbox, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, GameCube, Wii)
- Previous A.I. experience - particularly on an FPS or TPS game
Things that would really make you stand out:
- Experience with Unreal Engine technology
- Passionate gamer with an eye for game-play design

Programmer

If you’re a skilled and experienced engineer and want to work with a world-class team to push the boundaries of gaming yet again, we want to hear from you!
Our General Game Programmers are the people who work above the engine level, using it to build systems that our artists and designers will work with to create the final gameplay experience. They need great communication skills, a passion for building games, and the ability to work in as many different technical areas (physics, audio, graphics, animation, AI, optimization, etc.) as it takes to "make things happen".
If you join our team, you will be responsible for:
- One or more major areas of the gameplay experience, or multiple game systems
- Working closely the design and art teams to figure out how to help them achieve their goals
- Working with the lead programmer to generate technical designs and schedules
- Writing, documenting and testing the code that you design
- Supervising junior or mid-level programmers if required
Preferred Experience and Skills:
- One or more shipped game titles
- Experience with recent game console technology (Xbox, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, GameCube, Wii)
- Experience with Unreal Engine technology
- Excellent understanding of C/C++
- Commitment to code quality, documentation and sound testing procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
